HOBBY WELDING

The low-pressure way to try welding for the first time. Learn MIG basics and finish the day having built your own small metal project — no experience or gear required.
ARC TIG

Build precision TIG (GTAW) skills on mild steel, aluminum, and stainless — the process that opens doors in fabrication, aerospace-adjacent, and specialty shop work.

Do I need any Experience to Start?
No. Most students walk in having never struck an arc. Our 3-hour Hobby Welding class is built specifically for first-timers, and every program starts with the fundamentals before moving to certification-level work.
Which certification should I go for?
It depends on the work you want. Structural and ironwork jobs typically call for a stick or flux-core certification on plate; pipeline and pressure-vessel work calls for a different code entirely. On your tour, we'll walk through real job postings in your target field and help you pick the right track instead of guessing.
What can i expect to earn as a certified welder?
Pay varies by certification, specialty, and employer, but skilled welders in Nevada commonly move into roles in the $45K–$65K+ range, with pipeline, pressure-vessel, and specialty certifications commanding a premium over general shop work. We'll talk through realistic expectations for your goals on the tour.
How long until I'm actually certified?
Timelines depend on the program — our ArcTIG course runs 60 hours, ArcStructural runs 120 hours (with two certification tests included), and the full Arc PRO track runs 240 hours covering four processes and three certification tests. We'll map a schedule to your availability during your tour.
Is the Hobby Welding class really for total beginners?
Yes — it's designed as a low-pressure, hands-on introduction. An instructor coaches you through a simple MIG welding project from start to finish, and all safety gear is provided. Closed-toe shoes are required, since welding produces sparks that can reach roughly 1,000°F.
Do you train businesses or crews, not just individuals?
Yes. We build corporate and crew training around the work your team actually performs — structural, sheet metal — delivered at our Scotland Lane shop or on-site at your facility. Call to talk through your crew's needs.
